The National Program for Sustainable Irrigation invests in research to improve the productivity and sustainability of irrigation in Australia.

Our research has led to improvements in water re-use, water-use efficiency, precision irrigation and community-wide irrigation planning.

NPSI Phase 2 brings together 14 funding partners, including government, water authorities and research agencies. The NPSI Phase 2 Strategic Plan is now available.

New Research

Northern Australia Irrigation Futures

The Northern Australian Irrigation Futures (NAIF) project has worked closely with the WA, NT, QLD and Australian governments and a range of other researchers and stakeholders, to deliver new knowledge, tools and processes to support debate and decision making regarding irrigation in northern Australia. The Final Report and Research Bulletins are now available.
